Listen to our playlist dedicated to exploring Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians, a letter filled with warmth, encouragement, and hope. Written to a young community of believers facing trials, 1 Thessalonians calls us to steadfast faith, covenant love, and the living hope of the Messiah’s return. Each episode follows our three-part commentary style: (1) Verse-by-Verse direct text in English from the Textus Receptus, (2) Rendering in Ancient Hebrew Thought retelling it through concrete Hebrew thought patterns and symbols, (3) Imagery Notes giving background on the cultural and/or linguistic imagery – using the concrete language of family, fields, tents, and covenant loyalty to bring the text alive. We also include a Continuous Narrative Rendering – smoothing Paul’s letter into a flowing, spoken form, as though read aloud by the fire, just as the first believers would have heard it together.
