Scripture says Yahweh leans toward, lifts, carries, delays, waits, guards, and restores. This page gives Core Works that posture our stand before Yahweh from the manuscripts that all English Bible translations source, not theology.
“I do not cower before Him. I do not perform to appease Him. I stand honestly, steadily, open-handed, ready to return. Because His posture is already set toward sustaining life.“
“We do not stand before a volatile power, but before Yahweh, whose first movement is to preserve life, whose correction aims at restoration, and whose presence remains even while truth is spoken.“
- Yahweh’s first movement is toward sustaining life – “I have no delight in the death of one who dies… so turn back and live.” Ezekiel 18:32
- Yahweh corrects in order to preserve, not to vent – “Yahweh disciplines the one He loves, like a father the son he delights in.” Proverbs 3:12
- Yahweh delays destruction to allow return – “Yahweh is slow to anger and great in strength, and He does not leave wrongdoing unaddressed.” Nahum 1:3
- Yahweh’s nearness is meant to stabilize, not threaten – “Yahweh is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” Psalm 145:18
- Yahweh bends down to sustain the weak – “He raises the poor from the dust, lifts the needy from the ash heap.” Psalm 113:7
- Yahweh remains present even while confronting wrongdoing – “If you return to Yahweh… He will not leave you or destroy you.” Deuteronomy 4:31
- Yahweh’s goal is rest, not endless tension – “This is the resting place, let the weary rest; this is the place of repose.” — Isaiah 28:12
- Yahweh sustains even those who struggle to stand – “Yahweh upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bent over.” Psalm 145:14
- Yahweh’s anger has an end; His sustaining care does not – “For His anger is but for a moment, but life is in His favor.” Psalm 30:5
