Z – About

Shalom friends! Here we journey back into the language, landscape, and life rhythms of the Scriptures in a lighter, more accessible way, exploring the world of the Bible as its first listeners experienced it. The Bible was written in a world very different from ours, where Jesus and His earliest followers lived a Hebrew way of life—gathering around meals, praying as families, keeping time with God’s rhythm, and caring for one another as a close community. Over time, much of that everyday, down-to-earth way of faith has been forgotten or replaced. So, together, we take a step back to hear the good news in its original setting and to learn how the early church walked with God. Here you’ll find verse-by-verse studies, Hebrew imagery, historical explorations, and reflections that invite us to rediscover the roots of our faith so we can walk in them today.

Please note that when dealing with history, Scripture, or philosophy, we aim to root shared knowledge in what can be traced to sources and scholarship rather than speculation, presenting how events unfolded, such as the shift from covenant-walk to Greek moral philosophy, or the Roman edicts reshaping practice, framing it carefully, making sure it’s valuable and accurate. We also reference the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts for a deeper understanding and organic thought.
