The Second Epistle to the Thessalonians – Continuous Narrative in Ancient Hebrew Concrete Thought with Definitions
From Sha’ul, Silvanus, and Timotheos to the gathered tent in Thessalonica, pitched within the care of Yahweh (the Eternal One who is and causes to be) our Father, and under the rule-staff of Yeshua ha Mashiach (Yahweh’s Anointed Deliverer).
May chen (gracious favor freely given) and shalom (complete wholeness, peace, and well-secured dwelling) flow to you like oil upon dust-weary feet.
We thank Yahweh, it is right to do so, for your emunah (steadfast walking, firm trust) sprouts like barley after rain, and your ahavah (covenant love, loyal care) spills from tent to tent.
We speak of you among all the encampments because you keep your breath long and your feet firm though hunters hound you through narrow ravines.
This is a sign hung at the city gate that Yahweh’s balances are true, He finds you fit to bear the mark of His rule-tent, for that rule is the very cause for which you suffer.
It is upright with Elohim (the Mighty One, powerful Ruler) to return the weight upon those who press you; but to you who are harried He offers rest by the fire with us, when the veil is drawn back and Yeshua appears from the high heavens with His mighty messengers, refining flame with Him, to set things right by covenant fire against those who refuse the knowledge of Yahweh and turn from the good announcement.
They will know enduring ruin without restoration, cut off from His Face and from the radiance of His strong arm, when He comes to shine within His set-apart ones and draw wonder from all who trusted the report, and you are among them, for you received our witness.
So we keep praying: may Elohim find you fit for this summons upon the path, ripening every delight of goodness and every work of emunah (steady faith-action) with strength in your muscles, so that the Name of Yeshua burns bright within your camp and you gleam inside His brightness, all by chen (gracious favor) from Yahweh and from Yeshua ha Mashiach.
Brothers and sisters, we call to you by the arrival of Yeshua ha Mashiach and our gathering of tents to Him.
Do not let your inner wind be shaken by rumors as though the Day of Yeshua had already dawned.
That Day will not open until the great loosening comes, tents unpegged, hearts wandering, and the man of rebellion is uncovered, the one who sets his stool inside Yahweh’s own dwelling.
You remember how I spoke these things beside your fires.
You know the hand that still bars the gate; the twisting already works beneath the surface until the restrainer steps aside.
Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom Yeshua will erase with the breath of His mouth and undo with the brightness of His appearing.
His rise will mimic the Accuser’s craft, false power, painted wonders, deceit that lures the unsteady, and many will stumble because they would not receive the ahavah (covenant love) of truth.
So Elohim allows a powerful mirage, that they may walk after the image they desire; and they bear their own ruin, delighting in crooked scales.
But we give thanks to Yahweh for you, beloved ones, chosen from the beginning for deliverance through the setting-apart breath of the Ruach ha Qodesh (the Holy Breath / Spirit of Yahweh, His life-wind) and the steady walking of truth.
Through this call He summons you to share the radiance of Yeshua ha Mashiach.
Therefore stand firm; grip the teachings you received as a traveler grips his staff against the wind.
And may Yeshua ha Mashiach Himself, and Yahweh our Father, who has poured out chen (favor) and unbroken hope, breathe comfort into your hearts and set your hands steady for every good word and deed along the covenant path.
Brothers and sisters, lift your petitions for us, that the word of Yeshua may run freely like a runner on open ground and shine from tent to tent as among you.
Pray also that we may be delivered from crooked men, for not all walk with emunah (steady faithfulness, firmness).
But Yahweh is steady and unshifting; He will plant your feet firm and guard you from the twisted path.
We trust in Yahweh concerning you, that you walk and will keep walking in the pattern we gave, staying within the boundary-stones.
May Yahweh level your hearts upon the path of ahavah (covenant love) toward Him and the long-breath endurance that looks for Yeshua ha Mashiach.
We command you in His Name: step back from every brother who breaks rhythm and refuses the teaching.
You know how we lived among you, not idle, not eating another’s bread without labor, but working with our hands through the dark and the dawn so as not to burden you.
We did this to leave a footprint for you to follow.
For we said among you: if a man will not till the soil, he shall not eat from its fruit.
Yet some wander idly, stirring dust in others’ tents.
To them we say by Yeshua ha Mashiach: work quietly, shape your own bread, eat in shalom (peaceful wholeness).
But you, beloved ones, do not let your hands hang limp in doing good.
If any refuse this word, do not share his idle table so that he may feel his drifting, yet do not treat him as a foe; speak to him as a brother who has lost his way.
Now may Yahweh of shalom (the Lord of peace and wholeness) Himself stretch His shalom (complete rest and safety) over you in every place, as a tent-covering that shelters all your doings.
This greeting I, Sha’ul, write with my own hand; this is the mark upon every letter.
May the chen (gracious favor) of Yeshua ha Mashiach rest upon you all.
